Adidas CEO Herbet Hainer predicts great things for the sports brand. Like many companies, recent times have been a challenge with sales falling in 2009, though only by 4%. However the year before, 2008, had been the company’s best ever year.
Hainer is expectant:The company will, according to Hainer meet its own sales targets the London 2012 Olympic Games alone should contribute £100 million to the coffers.
Although the economic prospects are stormy, Hainer anticipates that Adidas have great future propsects. With a line of products that speaks to people’s concerns about health, fitness and wellbeing, and pricing that keeps the company’s products within range of the mass market, the company seems to be well place to deliver. Sports shoes like the Adidas Forum Mid shoe show that the company is on the right track.
Adidas is a major player in the sporting goods market, second behind Nike, which is the market leader. In addition to large sporting events, promotions and sponsorship Adidas is planning to take its products into new market segments and marketplaces.
